Position Description:

The Task Force, a nonpartisan champion for democracy, is inviting a dedicated Fundraising Coordinator to join our team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be a driving force behind our grassroots fundraising campaigns, directly contributing to the financial backbone that supports our political advocacy. You will craft engaging campaigns, steward relationships with key donors, and cultivate new funding avenues—all in service of our mission to fortify democratic institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce fundraising pamphlets and materials for distribution.
  • Strategically plan and execute grassroots fundraising campaigns to achieve and exceed financial goals.
  • Build and nurture relationships with a diverse array of grassroots donors, including individuals and foundations.
  • Manage and update a comprehensive donor database with meticulous precision and discretion.
  • Organize and oversee fundraising events, handling logistics, attendee engagement, and sponsorship procurement.
  • Compose compelling fundraising content, such as appeals, grant proposals, and acknowledgment communications.
  • Monitor fundraising metrics, utilizing data to refine strategies and enhance campaign performance.
  • Ensure donors experience exceptional stewardship, fostering ongoing engagement and support.
  • Remain informed on fundraising methodologies and industry developments.

Requirements:

  • Preferably pursuing a degree in nonprofit/business management, finance, communications, political science or a related field.
  • Experience in fundraising, with a preference for those versed in the political or nonprofit sectors.
  • Articulate communication skills, capable of resonating with a broad audience of potential supporters.
  • Strong organizational acumen, with the ability to manage simultaneous tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency with fundraising databases and software tools.
  • Knowledge of ethical fundraising principles and familiarity with relevant regulations.
  • A self-driven work ethic, comfortable in both independent and collaborative settings.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving situations and deadlines.
  • A high level of discretion and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for and alignment with The Task Force’s mission and values.

Additional Information:

  • This position reports to the Appropriations Division Director.
  • This position is based in Washington, D.C., with remote accommodations available.
  • Preference will be given to candidates from American University, reinforcing our commitment to integrating the energy and ideas of local scholars into our operations.
