Overview:
Calling all web design aficionados! The Task Force for Democracy is welcoming applications to our growing Communications Division to build & maintain our organization’s websites.
We are looking for creative candidates passionate about strategic communications, digital organizing, and working on a youth-led team to bring together young people across the country around systemic democracy reform. Sounds like you? Apply below!
In this role, you will:
- Work with our Communications Director to make sure website content is up-to-date, on message, and aligned to support our student organizing campaigns
- Maintain our organization’s main website (taskforceusa.org), as well as our various campaign and coalition websites shared with partner organizations
- Run malware scans, update plugins, and save site backups, fix technical bugs, speed up page loading, and update redirect links
- Track and analyze digital performance like SEO rankings, using insights to improve strategies and strengthen outreach
- Support the Comms team with other digital tasks as needed
Are you a good fit for the role? We’re looking for someone with:
- Proficiency with WordPress (including themes, plugins, and basic troubleshooting)
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong written communication skills for drafting web copy and collaborating with broader Communications team
- Basic graphic design experience (Canva, Adobe, or similar tools)
- Ability to commit approximately 5-10 hours per week to this role

About the Task Force for Democracy
We’re a youth & volunteer-led team organizing students across 6 campaigns to demand a democracy that works for our generation — not billionaires & corporations! We work alongside movement partners to center young people in the fight against advancing autocracy.
We don’t focus on partisan politics or electing candidates. We organize to end inequities in our electoral system and win a democracy our generation can be proud of!
We know that true democracy cannot only exist at the ballot box, but must be present in the workplace, and in our education. Our campaigns aim to end structural inequality across different areas of our democracy, and include: fighting voter suppression & money in politics, organizing students under autocracy, stopping a dangerous constitutional convention that would roll back our rights, using transparency laws to hold power accountable, and more!
